Readers’ views are mixed when it comes to addressing Councilman Clayton Perry’s alleged involvement in a hit-and-run incident.Re: “City Council agrees with Clayton Perry on sabbatical request,” Expressnews.com, Monday:Just because the city allows you to take a sabbatical from the City Council doesn’t mean you should. Your position has become totally untenable, and your self-help needs to take place on your own time and dime.
Other prominent individuals have been involved in potentially embarrassing circumstances, and they were treated much more leniently.Rachel V. Diaz-KennonCouncilman Clayton Perry apparently had a “good time” somewhere the other night before getting into his Jeep and driving home drunk. Instead, they are interested in Hunter Biden’s business dealings, the removal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan and the impeachment of the current president.
