Ohio came closer to dipping below the 10,000-cases benchmark this week, as the number of COVID-19 cases lowered from 10,865 last week to 10,170 this week.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — since the beginning of May. Weekly case numbers last dipped below 10,000 for two weeks in October.Erroneous data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention caused the Nov. 10 COVID-19 deaths to be underreported as eight, the Ohio Department of Health reported
“The error was caught and the adjustment was made, leading to this week’s number of 134 deaths,” state health officials said. “The total of 142 deaths over two weeks is consistent with recent weekly averages.”The total COVID-19 case count since early 2020 has now reached 3,218,335. A total of 7,524,712 Ohioans have received at least one vaccination, representing about 67.9% of Ohioans age 5 and up.
Since the beginning of 2021, there have been 25,357 deaths among people reported as unvaccinated, and 1,413 among people reported to be fully vaccinated. And there have been 80,082 hospitalized Ohioans who were not fully vaccinated, and 5,959 fully vaccinated people hospitalized.* Total reported cases: 3,218,335 up 10,170.* Total reported ICU admissions: 14,477, up 37.* Total reported hospitalizations: 129,565, up 521.
