Salting the mine consisted of using a shotgun blast of a small amount of gold dust onto the rock face of an old payout gold mine. Soon a gullible, lovable, babe-in-the-woods prospector would “accidentally” walk into the mine and discover the gold specks. Gold fever would set in and said person would buy the worthless old mine from the bad guy.

The demise of public schools is inevitable. Gone will be a town’s pride, athletics, bands, extracurricular programs and student identity with their community.As a retired public school teacher and a special education attorney, I strongly oppose vouchers. Vouchers are a form of discrimination that will take away money from public schools.
