A reader wonders if the Texas grid is prepared to handle an influx of migrants or a series of cold snaps.The contributions Paula Allen makes to the history of our city through her columns are admirable. Her consistent ability to research and present detailed accounts, such as she did in response to my recent query regarding W. Frances Scarborough are commendable. She is truly a history sleuth.As asylum-seekers cross, it will test our antiquated power grid, and hopefully it will pass — this time.
“If we shut down every plant we have, and we bought all of our power on the market, there’s only so much power to be bought,” CPS Energy CEO Rudy Garza said.
