Letter: Higher wages — and charging more for postage — might solve some problems for the U.S. Postal Service.

As we had no delivery whatsoever on the missing paper days, I am blaming USPS; certainly not carrier Bob, who too often is delivering mail after dark. Yet, when Bob takes a day off, there is nobody to cover for him.

Higher wages might solve the labor shortages, as well as higher postage costs and tax dollar support. Canada’s first class postage is $1.07 for a single stamp; Great Britain approximately 95 cents; Germany 85 cents. Meanwhile, we continue our Sunday morning newspaper tradition/addiction with a run to the nearest grocery store.
