A tragic incident in Lee County, Alabama, has left one man dead. Daniel Ray Metcalf, 34, is in custody following the stabbing death of his 41-year-old roommate, Cory Vernon Rogers. Witnesses reported a heated argument that turned violent, culminating in Metcalf fatally stabbing Rogers.

A fatal argument at a Lee County home early Sunday morning resulted in the death of one man and the arrest of his roommate. Lee County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence in the 900 block of Lee County Road 147 in the Beauregard community at approximately 2:34 a.m. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 41-year-old Cory Vernon Rogers deceased inside the home. Rogers sustained multiple stab wounds to his chest, side, and back, according to sheriff’s officials.

Daniel Ray Metcalf, 34, was taken into custody at the scene. Investigators revealed that Metcalf confessed to stabbing his roommate. Witness accounts provided to detectives indicate that the two men engaged in a heated argument which escalated into a physical altercation. During the fight, Metcalf reportedly retrieved a knife and stabbed Rogers.
