A lawmaker in Ohio has introduced a bill that would make planting a team flag at Ohio Stadium following multiple brawls that took place during Rivalry Week.

Rivalry Week kicked off with Michigan taking on Ohio State at their home stadium. With the Wolverines pulling off the victory, players from Michigan planted their flag squarely in the center of Ohio Stadium. This resulted in a massive brawl involving players on both sides.

According to the bill introduced, 'House Bill 700 would 'prohibit planting a flagpole and flag in the center of the Ohio Stadium football field on the day of a college football game and to name this act the O.H.I.O. Sportsmanship Act.'It is understandable that introducing more sportsmanship into the game of football is needed, but to make planting a flag a felony might not be the right course to take. Still, the spirit behind the law itself makes a ton of sense.
