Laundromat burglar shoots man in East Oakland
OAKLAND — A 43-year-old man was shot early Tuesday by burglars trying to steal a coin machine from an East Oakland laundromat, authorities said.The shooting was reported about 4:50 a.m. at the Washtime Coin Laundry, 1801 13th Avenue, near East 18th Street.
It was not immediately clear if the man shot is connected to the laundromat or just happened upon the burglary.A detailed description of the shooter was not available.Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of any suspects.
