A passerby captured the moment as the South Texas nu-metal group was shooting a music video in a field.
In the viral video, the sounds of metal drumming can distinctly be heard as the band thrashes away on their instruments.
"The idea ... was to be performing under large towers," Jaime Chavez, guitarist for Crossways.3000, told the Express-News."I wanted something that would represent our potential. We also filmed in another location aside from the one that went viral." Chavez wrote that the band initially saw the video trending on social media platform NextDoor before it spread to Reddit and Twitter.
"We've been laughing our asses off to all the comments and replies," Chavez wrote in a social media message."It's nice to see mainly positive comments."The band has been playing together since high school, initially performing under the name Crossways. Chavez said the band's biggest influence is"Deftones," a band with hits like"Change " and"My Own Summer .
