New TheLastOfUsHBO fan art transforms Pedro Pascal's Joel into his other major role of TheMandalorian.
A new piece of The Last Of Us fan art turns Pedro Pascal’s Joel into his role of Din Djarin from The Mandalorian. Set to make its debut on January 15, The Last Of Us is the first HBO series to be based on a video game and features Pascal as the show’s lead alongside fellow Game of Thrones alum Bella Ramsey as Ellie.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Now a new piece of fan art from rahalarts.eth blends Pascal’s two famous TV roles together, replacing his version of Joel with the protective bounty hunter he plays on The Mandalorian. Wearing his old armor from The Mandalorian season 1, Pascal’s Din Djarin looks almost at home protecting Ramsey’s Ellie as he does when taking care of Grogu in the hit Star Wars show. With both roles serving as strong father figures, this latest image only helps to further the many connections between the two characters that both fans, and Pascal himself, have already pointed out.
At the moment it is not yet clear whether HBO will renew The Last Of Us for a potential season 2, though the series creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have already hinted that if one does occur it will likely follow the story of the second game. Given the positive buzz already surrounding season 1, it would probably be a safe bet to assume that HBO will give serious consideration to providing the show with a renewal announcement sometime soon.
Of course, if The Last Of Us season 2 does indeed closely follow the storyline set out in the second game, Pascal’s involvement will likely be drastically reduced for the show’s sophomore outing. With The Last Of Us Part II set four years after the events of the first game, Joel’s character is killed off by a stranger named Abby, prompting Ellie to set out on a course of revenge.
