Last day for Indonesians in Sabah to return home via ferry services

KOTA KINABALU: Friday (March 20) will be the last day for Indonesians in Sabah to return to their country via ferry services.

The ferry service in Tawau district was initially closed following the movement control order on March 18, but it was reopened for operations on March 19.

Chief of the Indonesian Consul-General's Office in Tawau, Sulistijo Djati Ismojo said the ferry service was opened in order for Indonesians to return home after their visit to Sabah. He urged all Indonesians who wish to go back to do so by today as the service will be halted from March 21 to 31.Ismojo said they managed to get the ferry service to operate these last two days following discussions with the state government.

The ferry service from Tawau to Nunukan, Indonesia is among the most frequently used transport by vIndonesians who wish to return to their country.
