Larder and Abundance Culinary are hosting a Jewish-Ish Christmas Dinner this holiday season. The one-night-only event features a mashup of Chinese and Jewish-inspired cuisine.
will host the Jewish-ish Christmas Dinner at Larder Delicatessen and Bakery, 1455 W. 29th St., on Sunday, Dec. 22. For $85, guests can enjoy a specialty mash-up menu and a “Die Hard” screening to celebrate the season. Larder and Abundance’s event starts at 2 p.m., with reservations available throughout the evening. As for the menu, it’s an even split of Chinese and Jewish flavors that feature one-of-a-kind dishes.
Appetizers include Szechuan-style gefilte fish and a dish dubbed Sweet Little Birds Nest, featuring sweet potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Main courses are listed simply as mushroom, beef, duck and pork, but anyone who has dined at Abundance and/or Larder knows each plate is bound to beDessert will be a medley of Chinese and Jewish doughnuts served with fresh seasonal fruit. Beer, wine and cider will be available for purchase.
