The commission made its decision Tuesday, according to the New York Post. The case now goes to LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell, who will determine what disciplinary action, if any, the involved officers and their sergeant may face. Police shot Jillian Lauren last April. She allegedly drew a gun on officers as she walked out of her Eagle Rock home. The officers were in the area searching for hit-and-run suspects at the time.In September 2025, Lauren was granted a mental health diversion program by the court, which was petitioned by the defense.
