Laos to experience cold wave during the Lunar New Year holidays

The Laotian people have been cautioned to drive carefully and be prepared for rapid weather changes.

The northeast provinces of Laos, comprising of Phongsaly, Houaphanh, and Xieng Khouang provinces, will face quite cold weather, with heavy fog in the morning and high wind in certain regions, with temperatures ranging from 9 to 21 degrees.

The northwest provinces of Laos, including Luang Namtha, Bokeo, Oudomxay, Luang Prabang, and Xayaboury, will also see cold temperatures and thick fog in the morning. The temperature will remain between 12 and 30 degrees. Vientiane Capital, on the other hand, will see a bit warmer weather with slight fog during the morning, and the temperature will hover between 18-28 degrees.

Central Laos, comprising of Vientiane prefecture, Bolikhamxay, Khammouane, and Savannakhet provinces will see temperatures hovering between 13-28 degrees. The region will still see some fog in the morning and strong winds in a few areas. Authorities have advised residents in Northern Laos to stay as warm as possible, cautioned people to drive carefully during the morning fog, and be prepared for rapid weather changes. - Laotian Times
