A Lancaster County man has been sentenced to up to 24 years in prison after pleading guilty for raping and sexually assaulting three children over the course of
a decade, according to an update from the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office." Judge Ashworth said Ebersol’s actions were 'totally and completely unacceptable,' adding that Ebersol never once thought of the victims while pursuing his 'selfish desires and interests.' The 'horrendous nature' of the offenses have had a deeply negative impact on Ebersol’s family and community, Judge Ashworth said.
Judge Ashworth said in a press release that one of the reasons he accepted the plea was because it would prevent Ebersol's victims, girls, from having to recount their experiences. A prosecutor in the case said the girls are looking to put their experience in the past, and move on with their lives.Ebersol raped and assaulted the girls at his residence and barn in the 500 block of South Fairmont Road between 2006 and 2020.
After an investigation in 2022, a Children and Youth report said Ebersol had inappropriately touched a child.
