Ann Kelsey Walker became suspicious when she was asked to verify personal details as she attempted to claim money back for an unneeded suitcase for a trip to Canada.

A gran from Lanarkshire has issued a stark warning after she - almost - fell victim to a sick scammer posing as a Ukrainian child in a bid to fleece her out of pocket.

The 60-year-old realised what was going on and confronted the scammer, who she first thought was an airline worker, before he made desperate attempts to convince her that he was a Ukrainian child who needed her help. Air Transat confirmed they were not affiliated with the Facebook page, but when Ann scolded the scammer they pleaded for cash before posing up as the Ukrainian child.

But Motorola worker Ann did a Google image search and found the pictures to be generic photographs of children from the internet."He sent me a picture of these four kids, but when I googled the images they had obviously been taken off the internet - it's disgusting.
