Lakeside Primary School continued to leave its mark after obtaining the first position at the Boksburg Cross Country Championship, at Boksburg Stadium, on August 17. According to the deputy principal, Joan Moosa, the athletes scored 1 500 points. “The athletes competed against 20 primary schools and we're extremely proud of what we have accomplished. We did really well, considering that our school is undergoing major renovations to its sports facilities and does not have a place to practice.

“The athletes from U9 to U14 boys and girls, with the exception of the U13 girls, took 11 of the 12 trophies. There were 85 athletes in total who advanced to the next round.”
