Light snow and flurries are expected in Northeast Ohio today, with the possibility of slick travel conditions. Lake effect snow is also forecast, with bands potentially producing over 3 inches of snow. Windy conditions are expected this afternoon.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The heavy snow, associated with the major winter storm south of us, missed our area. We have light snow and flurries associated with that. It won’t take much, with the cold temperatures, to cause slick travel this morning. The best chance for any additional snow with the system will be from Mansfield to Canton and points south. Lake effect snow has started up again. We have a northeast steering wind this morning.

The lake effect snow is focused west of Cleveland early this morning. The snow is forecast, however, to track east later this morning and afternoon. Locally over 3 inches of snow is possible where bands persist. It will turn quite windy by this afternoon in spots with a northeast to north wind gusting over 30 mph at times. High temperatures today 26 to 31 degrees. A blustery night ahead with lake effect snow showers. Locally over 3 inches of more snow is possible where bands persist
