Lake Erie's colder water is fueling lake-effect snow that could bring 3 to 5 inches to the snow belt east of Cleveland Tuesday and Wednesday. While not a lot of snow is expected, travel could be difficult due to wind gusts up to 35 mph and squalls. There is a chance of up to 5 inches of snow Tuesday and Wednesday in the snow belt east of Cleveland and it will be very cold. CLEVELAND, Ohio — The water in Lake Erie is colder, but not cold enough to prevent the lake-effect from targeting the snow belt east of Cleveland.

The good news is not a lot of snow is in the forecast. An estimated 3 to 5 inches could fall by Wednesday afternoon. The Ohio Department of Transportation is encouraging residents to delay unnecessary travel during the advisory.
