A crowd of people gathered at the Silver Spring Township L.L. Bean store for its grand opening on the morning of Sept. 20.Eager customers waited in line, some for hours, before the event even began. The first among them had arrived as early as 6 a.m.But distance was not a factor for some fans of the brand. Several had even made the trek to Freeport, Maine to visit the flagship L.L. Bean location.
