Kyrie Irving 'Invested' In Playing For Nets - RealGM Wiretap
Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets were unable to come to terms on a long-term deal in June, which led him to opt-in to his $36.5 million contract for the 22-23 season. Kevin Durant requested a trade one day later and while Durant is continuing to seek an exit from Brooklyn, Irving is believed to be invested in the Nets this coming season."I think Kyrie is invested in being a Brooklyn Net next year," said Brian Windhorst.
"So from what I can gather, it appears he and the Nets are looking forward to meeting up in training camp. Whether Kevin Durant is there and his level of buy-in, that's the big question. But right now, I think the Nets want to run this team back and they're hoping Kevin Durant agrees. The way they're conducting trade talks and the prices they are asking has teams out there thinking they don't really want to trade Kevin Durant anyway. They want to bring this team back.
