The streets were extra quiet with plenty of parking spaces available at shopping malls. Gaya Street, a major city centre thoroughfare was deserted as well.
“I’m just dropping by for a while to see whether all the shops are really closed. It’s very quiet and I actually enjoy this quietness,” said 56-year-old housewife, Josephine Chan. Security guards were seen guarding the mall entry and exit points. Visitors are required to undergo temperature checks and use sanitizer prior to entering the mall.
