Salmon sold at Costco that was previously recalled over the potential for listeria contamination was recently elevated to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s highest risk level. The product, Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon , was first recalled in October 2024. Here’s what to know: Acme Smoked Fish Corporation, which produces the product, first voluntarily recalled 111 cases of Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon in twin, 12-ounce packages on Oct. 25, 2024, according to a notice from the FDA .

"Listeria infection can be deadly for older Americans, pregnant women and consumers with weakened immune systems. Listeriosis sufferers can experience symptoms such as fever, muscle aches, headache, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms.Acme Smoked Fish Corporation says on its website that there have been no illnesses reported related to the recall.
