King Charles and Queen Camilla are set to visit the Channel Islands next month for the first time since 2005 in the latest sign of the King’s stabilising health amid his cancer battle.
King Charles and Queen Camilla are officially set to embark on a historic overseas tour in July following the monarch’s successful visit to France amid his cancer battle.
“It will be a great privilege to welcome Their Majesties to the Bailiwick for the first time as King and Queen; the year after their Coronation," he said in a video address on Tuesday. Along with the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands form the “Crown Dependencies” which are neither part of the United Kingdom nor British Overseas Territories.
The Normandy visit was the King’s first foreign tour since announcing his cancer diagnosis in February but the Channel Island trip will be his first time staying overnight in another country since his diagnosis.
