New Braunfels - Since last year, New Braunfels grew nearly 6% with their population now sitting at just under 111,000 people. City leadership is making sure their investment in public safety is keeping up with the community’s growing needs.

"Safety is the number one prerequisite for a strong economy," says Pres. & CEO of the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce. Packer says the city’s investments over the years in public safety have translated into a fast-growing community. So much so, that the average 3-year population growth rate in the city was just under 6%.

City officials say they continue to add police officers to keep up with demand. 64 positions have been added since 2014. "Never really had any problems or issuesI’ve always felt safe and I’ve always lived here by myself as a young lady," says Lecompt.The safety and security of both residents and visitors is a top priority for the City of New Braunfels. As our community continues to attract tourists and new residents, the City will continue to make investments in infrastructure, equipment and staff that help keep New Braunfels safe.
