You should store your onions in a cool, dry place - and never store them with potatoes.
Buying onions only for them to go soft and leaving you unable to cook with them isn't great - especially if you need them for dinner and can't nip out to get fresh ones.
Contrary to popular belief, the expert advises against refrigerating onions, as the cold and moisture can lead to premature spoilage. She also warns people not to store them beside potatoes as it could ruin both vegetables. She added: "Keep them separate from potatoes, as the two together may impact the lifespan of both items.”
