The styling of the electric bike has been inspired by motocross bikes

The bike is powered by a 514.1 Wh battery and can hit up to 24 mph . It takes roughly 4 hours to recharge the battery of the Elektrode 20. Aimed at young buyers, U.S. prices start at $2,199. Do you yearn to own a Kawasaki but don’t have the money for one of its dirt bikes? If that sounds like you, the Japanese manufacturer may have the answer with its new electric bike.

It may not be as thrilling or as quick as a motorbike, but it’s significantly cheaper. This new bike is known as the Elektrode 20 and is aimed at young riders. It’s been styled to resemble a motocross bike and sits on 20-inch wheels with chunky tires, perfect for gravel, dirt, and other slippery surfaces. It’ll do an impressive 24 mph maxed out and promises “quick acceleration.” Kawasaki says the bike’s battery has a capacity of 514.1 Wh and can run for 3 hours between charges. The battery sits in the frame and is a lithium-ion unit that takes 4 hours to charge through a normal household socket. It should be able to retain 800% of its original capacity after 500 recharges. The two-wheeler includes three separate speed modes, limiting it to 13 mph , 18 mph , and 24 mph . Importantly, the bike has been designed primarily for kids and teens and can only support riders up to 132 lbs . While it’s a shame adults like ourselves can’t ride it, it could be a good gift for kids who want to show off to their friends. The Elektrode 20 is available exclusively through the Kawasaki website and costs $2,199 in the U.S. It is sold in two green, black, and white design themes. “We are excited to launch the new Elektrode 20 on our enhanced e-commerce platform,” Kawasaki director of marketing Bob O’Brien said. “By offering the Elektrode 20 for sale on Kawasaki.com, we can reach an even larger audience, expanding accessibility of our products while growing our customer base. It’s an exciting addition that will allow new riders to experience the thrill of owning a Kawasaki with a convenient purchasing process.”
