The Katy Police Department apprehended two suspects involved in a shooting incident at Katy Mills Mall . Officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 5:21 p.m. on Monday. While no injuries were reported, the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle. Through a swift investigation, detectives reviewed surveillance footage, identifying the shooter. A search warrant executed at the suspect's residence led to the arrest of Aaron Noah Chavez, an adult male, and a juvenile male.
The firearm believed to have been used was also recovered. Both suspects admitted to their involvement, stating the shooting stemmed from a feud between two groups. They have been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Chavez is currently held at Fort Bend County Jail, while the juvenile is in Fort Bend County Juvenile Detention. The Katy Police Department's response and investigation have been commended by the community, reaffirming their commitment to safety and security.
