Katy master baker Hemu Basu will star in the Food Network's 'Holiday Baking Championship'...
Nine years ago, Hemu Basu first attempted decorating a cake. Now, the Katy home-baker has won international stardom and starred in four major televised baking competitions.in which a team of master bakers, led by Basu, will create an edible Christmas masterpiece. If her team wins, it will bring home a sweet prize of $10,000.
For the holiday baking show, Basu and her team were tasked with creating a dessert to satisfy the"naughty-or-nice" theme. The team also consists of Kimberly Sweets, a modeling chocolate expert and Joel Gonzalez, a pastry chef and “chocolate genius,” Basu said. Basu can’t reveal what her team designed or how they fared in the competition — viewers will have to tune in at 10 p.m. Dec. 12 to find out what they made.
Unlike her previous television appearances, “Holiday Baking Championship” is only one episode. The lightning-fast competition took place all in one day — a new experience for Basu.
