McCulloh, D.Phil., served as Gonzaga University 's previous president for the past 16 years. \Michael Reilly, Chair of the Gonzaga University Board of Trustees, expressed his delight in announcing Dr. Passerini as the university's next president during an introductory video announcement.
He stated, 'After a comprehensive seven-month national search involving a highly qualified and diverse pool of candidates, I am thrilled to announce that Dr. Passerini will be Gonzaga's next president.' Her current role as Provost and Senior Executive Vice President at Seton Hall University, coupled with her prior academic and administrative experiences, has meticulously prepared her for this pivotal stage in her distinguished higher education career.' Reilly further revealed that the vote for Passerini's appointment was unanimous. She will become the first woman to lead Gonzaga University. \Passerini, hailing from Italy, holds a degree in political science from Luiss University in Italy, an economics degree from the University of Rome Tor Vergata in Italy, an MBA and subsequent Ph.D. from George Washington University, and a Certificate in Business Project Management from New York University. Her impressive academic background also includes serving as a Fulbright Student Scholar and Fulbright Administrator Scholar, as well as an Italian National Research Council Fellow (CNR). 'Gonzaga is clearly a very special place: A dynamic university with a national reputation for quality, dedicated to the holistic education of students,' Passerini remarked.
