Find out what Kate Gosselin has been up to after 'Jon & Kate Plus 8,' her job, relationship with her kids and more
Yes, Kate is still considered a reality TV star but people are no longer tuning into TLC weekly for an inside look at her and Jon Gosselin’s life with their eight kids — twins Mady and Cara and sextuplets Collin, Hannah, Aaden, Joel, Alexis and Leah.
The former couple rose to fame on Jon & Kate Plus 8, which aired from 2007 to 2009. Following their divorce, the show changed its name to Kate Plus 8 in 2010 and that iteration of the series ran until 2017.After Kate Plus 8 ended in 2010, she starred on one season of the reality show Kate Plus Date where she enlisted matchmakers to help find love after her divorce.Where Is Kate Gosselin Living? Kate relocated to North Carolina following her split with Jon. She moved with four of her kids, Aaden, Joel, Alexis and Leah. Twins Mady and Cara lived with their mom until leaving for college in New York in 2019. Mady made it clear that she will not update the public about the ins and outs of her family in a February 2023 TikTok video. 'The rhetoric in so many of my comments about childhood trauma and healing and whatever you want to say about my family, my life, my parents, whatever, is not your business,' she said at the time. 'Perpetuating the narrative that we are damaged or that we are crazy child stars or whatever you want to say is extremely harmful as myself and my siblings are going out into the world and will be functioning members of society with careers.'Collin moved in with his father, Jon, in 2018 and has spoken about having a strained relationship with Kate. After being placed in a behavioral institute in 2016, Collin said that his relationship with his mom ended. He claimed in 2024 that Kate was physically abusive to him, allegations she has since denied.Questions about Kate’s career started to rise in August 2025, and the former reality star explained why she renewed her nursing license earlier this year. “Honestly? Providing for 8 kids, college funds which I am proud to say covered all of their college and more and LAWYERS,” she said in a TikTok comment at the time, when a fan asked why she was taking on 12-hour nursing shifts. “Sickening but I was drug into court constantly and that costs A TON. Sad bc my kids could have a lot more saved and I could have a retirement saved if it weren’t for lawyers.”In a separate comment, Kate explained that “reality TV doesn’t pay as well as it should when you have to provide for 8 kids on your own.”Following her divorce from Jon, the former TLC star moved on with entrepreneur Jeff Prescott. It was reported in 2015 that they split. However, details about her dating life have been kept under wraps since.
