Kaizer Chiefs may be about to make a shock call on the future of veteran left-back Sifiso Hlanti ahead of nexy season.
Even though there have been names linked with a move to Chiefs, the club is also set to release some.For Hlanti, it was even thought that he would not get a contract renewal last year. He eventually did, however, with Chiefs offering him a one-year extension with a further year as an option. With the club struggling again this season, it is believed that they will be looking to make some sweeping changes all round.
Hlanti has been at Chiefs for three seasons with very little effect. His lack of pace, passing and crossing ability has often frustrated the Amakhosi faithful. Additionally, at the age of 34 it was seemingly a no-brainer that it was time to move him on. “Hlanti is very much valued at Chiefs. He’s a good professional who doesn’t drink or smoke and plays a very crucial role in the background.
