Labor leader and presidential candidate LeodyManggagawa has bared his platform to address the current problems faced by migrant workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his “Adyenda para sa Migranteng Pilipino at Kanilang Pamilya,” de Guzman presented his proposed solutions to the issues hounding overseas contract workers amid the pandemic, as well as ways to improve their lives.
De Guzman further said he aims to repatriate all migrant workers stranded abroad after a number of companies closed or scaled down operations at the height of the pandemic. “Dapat palagiang magsilbi ito sa migrante kaysa principal employer o manpower agencies [It should always serve the migrant workers rather than the principal employer or manpower agencies],” he said.
