The effort to donate all that leftover clothing isn’t as simple as it sounds, though it all began with a single volunteer. After a few months, Pitasi was appointed the Boston Athletic Association’s official apparel collection program captain. Pitasi forged the partnership between the B.A.A. and Big Brothers Big Sisters, with the charity organization providing the trucks that haul away all the donated clothing. Pitasi says that the clothing is then sold to various thrift stores across the country, with all proceeds benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts.
