For Vogue Shopping’s latest “Just Browsing,” senior shopping editor, Talia Abbas, visits Banana Republic’s SoHo flagship to discover the pre-fall collection.
With so much fashion existing online, there’s something refreshing about trying pieces on in-store after eyeing them first on a little screen. Enter Just Browsing: We’re taking you into the fitting room as we preview the newest collections from some of our favorite high-street brands and contemporary labels. We’ll get into fabric and quality, fit and feel, and so much more as we make our way through the shop floor.
I can see myself wearing these pants with a shrunken navy cashmere crewneck and some kind of ballet flat come fall, but for end-of-summer dressing, I like it with most with cropped, voluminous top that’s made of a similar fabric. I think it works both as a monochromatic look and a tonal one. An artful pendant, strung on a thicker leather cord, gives the look as a whole some depth and personality—and makes it feel instantly current.
