Footballer-turned-analyst and development coach Junior Khanye has given his honest opinion on reports linking former AmaZulu coach Benni McCarthy with Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
Both Chiefs and Pirates have been linked with the celebrated South African football legend as the two clubs are expected to shake-up their respective technical teams at the end of the season, although both Soweto giants currently have coaches leading up to the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
“When we talk about Benni, we talk about a very experienced and successful footballer who is probably the most successful player we have ever had as a country in recent times. This is someone who spent almost all his playing career in Europe and played under some of the world’s renowned coaches like Jose Mourinho. Benni has learnt so much from Jose Mourinho both as a player and as a coach and we are fortunate to have someone like that who we can claim as our own.
