dly misconduct trial of Christopher Taylor, an Austin Police officer .
Defense attorneys for Christopher Taylor said the case was too high-profile to risk compromising the jurors' integrity, calling for a mistrial. Judge Taylor has been in a Travis County Court for the last week for the shooting of Mauris DeSilva. Prosecutors argued that DeSilva was in the midst of a mental episode, holding a knife to his throat. Officers responding to DeSilva’s episode took the elevator; when the doors opened, DeSilva moved toward them with the knife, prompting police to shoot him.
