Joker finally has his own Boy Wonder, as a vulnerable character from earlier in his story is pulled into the Clown Prince of Crime's evil.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Warning: contains spoilers for Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing #12!The Joker has always targeted Robin anytime he could, having attempted to kill each version at different points over his history. But now that Joker has lost his reputation and most of his allies, it seems he's decided to get a Robin of his own, and the way he got them is absolutely heartbreaking.
Readers are able to see Joker's latest Robin in Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing #12 by Matthew Rosenberg, Carmine Di Giandomenico, Romulo Fajardo Jr, and Tom Napolitano. Joker is trying to gather allies to face off against the other Joker of Gotham City. One of the many allies he gathers is Red Hood, but the other more heartbreaking ally is Albert.
Albert is a young boy with cancer who has appeared several times in the story, and now Joker has kidnapped him to act as his Robin, even referring to him as "my make-a-wish Robin." It doesn't seem like Albert is in any immediate danger, but it's still no surprise that Jason Todd is outraged to see Joker carting around an innocent kid.
The entire reason Joker realized this was because of the comics Albert read while waiting for surgery on his cancer. This jogged Joker's memory enough to finally put everything together, and considering medication didn't seem to be helping Albert, Joker decided to reward him by recruiting him as a dark Robin. Albert is at risk of an early death as a member of Joker's entourage, but as Joker also recruits Red Hood this issue, Jason Todd makes it his mission to get Albert to safety.
