Jerry Don Elders received the sentence nearly a week after being convicted of capital murder in the fatal carjacking of 60-year-old Robin Waddell
A Johnson County jury decided Thursday that a 42-year-old man who fatally shot a woman, and is accused of wounding a Burleson police officer, should be sentenced to death.
Police believe the officer returned fire and the suspects drove away, abandoning the car about 2 miles from the shooting, Cordell said.
