Todd Monken isn’t the only member of the Ravens staff under consideration to be John Harbaugh’s offensive coordinator for the Giants.
The Giants reportedly requested an interview with Ravens running backs coach Willie Taggart for their offensive coordinator vacancy. The Ravens are not expected to block many offensive coaches under contract from interviews, The Post previously first reported.
Taggart spent the last three seasons under Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken, who is the favorite to hold the same title with the Giants if he is not hired as Browns head coach after participating in two rounds of interviews.He played quarterback for Jack Harbaugh at Western Kentucky and coached under Jack at his alma mater, under Jim at Stanford and under John with the Ravens.If Monken or anyone else is hired as offensive coordinator, the request signals that the Giants would be interested in adding Taggart as running backs coach.Tennis star's Aussie Open match ends with heated handshake exchange: 'What was that for?' Harbaugh is required to interview at least two minority candidates for all coordinator positions under the Rooney Rule, so he cannot just move his Ravens staff to East Rutherford. At least one minority must be interviewed for quarterbacks coach – a job that could go to Tee Martin after spending the last three seasons under Harbaugh.
