Joe Public celebrates 25 purposeful years
Co-founder and group chief creative officer Pepe Marais said that the company had stood the test of time and that it’s all about living their purpose of growth.
Talking about what sets them apart, Marais said that they try to add value to their client product. He said people forget that advertising is a product business, not a service industry. The company has faced a number of challenges. In 2008, they faced near bankruptcy, but they pulled themselves out in 2009.
Marais said the country’s current challenges were somewhat of an opportunity. “Look at South Africa and the challenges we face; I would say that is an opportunity for us to find solutions.”We are probably the only business in our industry that I know for sure is as clear on our purpose beyond business.
