The sportscaster is retiring from local television news after 39 years but will continue to call Browns games on the radio.

The longtime news and sports anchor at WKYC Channel 3 signed off for the last time during a hour-long retrospective of his career.
“But this television station really has given me just an incredible opportunity to do so many things, I just went for it all the time. “We’ve spent a lot of time together,” Dieken said, estimating he and Donovan shared 200 meals on the road while covering the Browns. “In sports, you see some tough guys. Nobody is tougher than him.” The special also featured video messages from Browns coach Kevin Stefanski, Hall of Fame left tackle Joe Thomas, former Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel, former NBC sportscaster Bob Costas, Cavaliers great Austin Carr as well as former WKYC anchors Robin Swoboda, Leon Bibb, Tim White, and many others.
