Jeep honors 30 years of its Grand Cherokee with a special edition at the Detroit auto show.
is celebrating with the aptly named Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe 30th Anniversary Edition. Jeep isn’t ignoring its electrified Wrangler, either. The Wrangler willBoth vehicles were unveiled today at the new Detroit auto show, the first to be held downtown since 2019 and the first to be held in September.
The hardware on the 30th Anniversary Grand Cherokee is essentially the same as what you’ll find on other 4xe models: a plug-in hybrid drivetrain that nets 56 combined mpg and can travel 25 miles on battery alone. This system blends a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with a pair of electric motors to deliver 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, which works well enough to haul up to 6000 pounds.
