It appears that Jazz Chisholm Jr. will be avoiding the knife at least for now.
After the Yankees sought multiple opinions from doctors on their new third baseman’s UCL injury, rest and rehab has been recommended for Chisholm instead of surgery, The Post’s Jon Heyman confirmed on Friday.Chisholm landed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday
He underwent an MRI exam on Tuesday, but the Yankees were waiting to hear back from doctors before finalizing a plan for their recent trade deadline prize.'It's all gonna come out' after ESPN fires Sam Ponder: former host “I can tell you Jazz is pretty encouraged by how he’s feeling,” manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday. “So hopefully that’s a good sign.”
As of Wednesday, Chisholm was shut down from baseball activities and Boone was unsure of when he might be able to swing again. The left-handed hitter – under team control through 2026 – had provided an immediate spark for the Yankees upon being acquired from the Marlins, crushing seven home runs in 14 games while hitting .316 with a 1.062 OPS.While Chisholm is out, the Yankees plan to replace him at third base with a mix of Oswaldo Cabrera, DJ LeMahieu and Oswald Peraza.
