Everton manager Sean Dyche spoke about Jarrad Branthwaite’s future following the arrival of Jake O'Brien
Everton manager Sean Dyche has denied that the arrival of Jake O’Brien is linked to Jarrad Branthwaite ’s future. The towering 6ft 6in Republic of Ireland international centre-back – who is an inch taller than ‘The Carlisle Kaiser’ – became the Blues’ fifth signing of the summer on Tuesday with his £16.43million transfer from Olympique Lyonnais announced just over a couple of hours before his new club’s friendly at Coventry City.
For their part, Old Trafford chiefs have insisted they will not be ‘held to ransom’ over the England international but they subsequently splashed out £52million on 18-year-old Lille centre-back Leny Yoro only for the uncapped Frenchman to be been seen wearing a protective boot and using crutches at the club’s UCLA training base after being forced off during the first half of Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at the SoFi stadium in Los Angeles.
