DC Studios co-head James Gunn promises more DCU TV shows that will be connected to the movies coming in the future.

James Gunn promises that there will be more DC Universe TV shows coming in the future. The DCU is going in a new direction following DC Studios officially launching on November 1, with Gunn and Peter Safran leading the charge for Warner Bros. Discovery's superhero brand. Under their leadership, they will be in charge of DC movies, TV shows, and animation for the next couple of years. While their 10-year plan is a work in progress, they are expected to present it to Warner Bros.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY As fans are still eager to learn more about the future of the DCU, one Twitter user inquired about the state of TV for the brand. According to Gunn, part of their overall plan is to definitely have DCU TV shows that tie in with the films in a similar fashion to his Peacemaker series on HBO Max, which began as a spinoff from The Suicide Squad.

Several DC-based shows that were in various stages of development have either been scrapped or are being shopped around to other outlets. J.J. Abrams' Constantine and Madame X series, which are meant to tie into his Justice League Dark universe, are looking for new homes, and the same goes for the Batman: Caped Crusader animated series.

Peacemaker has already shown how well it works to have a series that is spun off from the DCU in a similar fashion to the MCU. With The CW slowly fading the Arrowverse out of their line-up, HBO Max will most likely be a bigger priority for Warner Bros. Discovery when it comes to producing DC shows, whether they are tied to the DCU or not.
