Even though rain has increased this month, extreme drought still exists in a large portion of South Texas. Here's a look at the numbers.
After an extremely dry stretch over the last few months, South Texas has finally started to pick up some meaningful rainfall since the start of November. So far this month, San Antonio has recorded 1.66 inches of rain, which is more rain than the Alamo City received in September and October combined. Has it been enough, though? Not quite.
Instead, if South Texas could just record half of that, somewhere between 4 and 6 inches of rain before the end of the year, it would go a long way to at least improving drought conditions across the region. Sunday’s forecast Rain is not expected anywhere across South Texas on Sunday. There is some good news, though, in that the weather is looking beautiful to spend outdoors. Sunday will start with cool morning temperatures in the upper 50s to around 60 degrees in San Antonio.
