Iran has been quietly plotting a surprise terror attack on California in revenge for American military strikes on the Middle East country, the FBI has warned. Tehran has been looking to deploy an army of drones against the Golden State after the US military wiped out its Supreme Leader in an airstrike last month, the Bureau said.
The alert said: “We recently acquired information that as of early February 2026, Iran allegedly aspired to conduct a surprise attack using unmanned aerial vehicles from an unidentified vessel off the coast of the United State Homeland, specifically against unspecified targets in California, in the event that the US conducted strikes against Iran.” It added: “We have no additional information on the timing, method, target, or perpetrators of this alleged attack.” California has the highest concentration of Iranian dissidents in the United States.
