Over in Miami, however, ’tis the season for Art Basel—the weeklong event merging the art world with the fashion and entertainment industry’s who’s who . And, like fashion week, it's a week that's as much about seeing art as it is being seen. After touring the galleries at the Miami Beach Convention Center or the Scope Art Fair hosted for the 9th time at Loews Miami Beach Hotel, come the after-parties.
Monday Xerjoff Welcomed 100 Life-Size Elephant Sculptures to South Beach To kick off the festivities, three public artworks curated by Dodie Kazanjian and Ximena Caminos were fêted, including Art&Newport’s Daniel Buren sailboat regatta, Miami’s forthcoming ReefLine, and The Great Elephant Migration.
