"CBP screens all travelers entering the United States. When we encounter persons with outstanding warrants, we are committed to bringing in those individuals to face their criminal charges," said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez of the Hidalgo Port of Entry. The man arrived from Mexico City on a commercial flight on September 9. A CBP officer identified him as a possible match to an arrest warrant and secured him immediately. Biometric verification confirmed his identity and the active arrest warrant from the Starr County Sheriff's Office. The man has been wanted since May 2025 and faces two counts of indecent assault and one count of indecent exposure, both Class-A misdemeanors in Texas. A Hidalgo police officer took custody of the man and transported him to the Hidalgo County jail, where he awaits extradition to Starr County. An immigration detainer was placed on the individual, ensuring his return for an immigration court hearing and removal proceedings following the adjudication of the state charges.
